Privacy Policy for PersonalToDo

Last updated: October 2026 • Effective for all users of PersonalToDo on iOS, iPadOS, macOS, and Android.

1. Information We Collect (and Don't Collect)

At KCOApps, we believe that your personal tasks, checklists, and private notes belong exclusively to you. PersonalToDo was built from the ground up with a privacy-by-default architecture:

  • No Accounts Required: You never need to provide your name, email address, phone number, or password to use PersonalToDo.
  • No User Profiling: We do not track your behavior, log your device usage, or create user profiles.
  • On-Device Storage: All tasks, categories, deadlines, priority flags, and token counts are stored locally in your device's isolated application storage (SwiftData on iOS, Room Database on Android).
  • No Custom Data Servers: We do not operate external application databases that harvest or store your tasks.

2. On-Device OCR & Image Processing

PersonalToDo includes an intelligent Live Camera OCR feature to help you quickly extract checklist items from paper notes, whiteboards, and receipts.

  • 100% On-Device Neural Processing: Text recognition is performed natively on your hardware using Apple's Vision framework (on iOS/macOS) and Google ML Kit (on Android).
  • No Cloud Photo Uploads: Photos, camera video frames, and scanned images are never sent to external AI servers, cloud processors, or third-party APIs.
  • Ephemeral Image Handling: Images captured during scanning are processed in memory to extract text and are not retained or transmitted anywhere.

3. Cloud Synchronization & Cross-Platform Storage

Cloud synchronization is entirely optional and disabled by default. If you choose to enable sync so your tasks appear across multiple devices:

  • Apple Devices (iOS, iPadOS, macOS): Sync is managed through your private Apple iCloud container (CloudKit). Your data is protected by Apple's end-to-end encryption. Only devices signed into your personal Apple ID can decrypt and view your to-dos.
  • Android Devices: Backups and sync are conducted using your secure personal Google account storage. Data remains encrypted and isolated to your account.
  • Storage Management: You can purge all cloud and local data at any time directly in the app under Profile → Privacy & Storage Settings → Clear iCloud & Local Storage.

4. Advertising & Token System

To support ongoing development while keeping PersonalToDo accessible, the app provides an optional rewarded token refill system:

  • Google Mobile Ads (AdMob): PersonalToDo integrates Google AdMob strictly to display optional rewarded sponsor videos when you choose to earn extra tokens.
  • No Task Content Shared: Your to-dos, scanned text, categories, and private notes are never accessible to or shared with Google AdMob or any ad network.
  • Ad Tracking Transparency: On iOS, we respect Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework. You have full discretion over whether ad personalization is permitted.

5. Your Rights & Contact Us

You maintain complete ownership and control of your personal data at all times. Depending on your jurisdiction (such as GDPR in Europe or CCPA/CPRA in California), you have the right to access, export, or permanently delete your information.

Because PersonalToDo does not operate centralized user databases or collect personal identifiers, you can exercise your right of erasure immediately by using the in-app storage reset or deleting the application from your device.
