Your Family's Privacy is Non-Negotiable.

1. Privacy-by-Design Philosophy

At KCO Apps, we believe that tracking an infant or toddler's milestones should never require surrendering your family's personal privacy. Unlike traditional cloud SaaS platforms that require parent registration, cloud logins, and constant server synchronization, TheBabySteps runs entirely on your local device.

2. Children's Privacy (COPPA & Global Standards)

The Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), and related child safety frameworks exist to protect children under the age of 13.

TheBabySteps strictly adheres to these regulations:

• We do not knowingly collect, harvest, solicit, or share personal information from or about children under the age of 13.
• All profile parameters you enter — including your child's name, birthdate, photo, and milestone completions — are stored exclusively on your iPhone or iPad hardware using Apple's encrypted local database.
• This information is never transmitted to KCO Apps servers, third-party brokers, or cloud databases.
• Parents and legal guardians maintain total, exclusive control over any data input into the application.

3. Local Device Data Storage (Offline Architecture)

When you configure TheBabySteps, the app creates a secure local storage repository on your iOS device via Apple's native SwiftData framework:

• Child Profile Details: Your child's first name (or nickname) and birthdate. These fields are utilized strictly on-device by our local algorithmic engine to determine developmental week numbers and show age-appropriate activities.
• Activity Status & Milestone Records: Checkmarks indicating completed play sessions, favorite routines, and unlocked milestone badges.
• Notification Settings: Local alarm configurations for daily schedule reminders.

None of this data leaves your physical device unless you choose to back up your device using Apple's native, encrypted iCloud Backup or iTunes/Finder backup.

4. Diagnostic Telemetry & Crash Analytics

To ensure the app runs smoothly and to identify bugs, TheBabySteps may utilize standard, anonymous diagnostic telemetry (such as Apple App Store Analytics or crash reports).

• This diagnostic data is aggregated, completely anonymized, and does not contain your child's name, birthdate, notes, or any personally identifiable information (PII).
• You have full control: you can easily opt out of anonymous analytics at any time directly inside the app under Settings → Privacy → Share Anonymous Analytics (toggle OFF).

5. Third-Party Trackers & Advertising

We respect child-directed app standards:

• TheBabySteps contains zero third-party behavioral advertising trackers (such as Facebook Pixel, Google Ads remarketing, or data broker SDKs).
• We do not sell, rent, trade, or monetize your or your child's personal data under any circumstances.

6. Your Data Rights & Permanent Deletion

Because your child's records are stored strictly on your local device:

• Immediate Deletion: You can wipe all data at any moment by deleting the app from your iOS device. Removing the app removes the local database and all associated records permanently.
• In-App Profile Reset: You can also clear your child's profile or change their birthdate directly in the Settings menu within the app.
